U.S. Proof Sets Question: [View all]

We recently inherited a “set” of Proof Sets (US Mint, untouched, unopened condition) from about 1970 - 2020…some years multiple sets.

I brought them to a local coin dealer who offered face value (except those special ones that had some silver in them). That doesn’t sound exactly right.

i don’t want to spend the next year parcelling them out on eBay just to get a couple extra bucks with a lot of aggravation.

i don’t want to have a crate of this stuff sitting in a closet.

What do you here with experience in these matters suggest?
