In reply to the discussion: Would you give this tiny home a look? [View all]hunter
(40,906 posts)49. I lived in an uninsulated garden shed when I was a young feral human.
The outdoor toilet facilities were primitive and definitely non-compliant with city code. I showered at a gym; an awkward story.
It was all better than living in my car.
This house is a mansion in comparison.
The road by this house makes me nervous. I think I'd surround the house with steel or concrete bollards. It might be possible to disguise them as a fence. It's too easy to imagine a drunk driver taking the place down.
The backyard of this house is large enough for a nice container garden.
There really ought to be houses like this scattered all over the place in every neighborhood. Unlike this house, they ought to be affordable.

I got a log home on 50 acres. Solar/battery back-up, private well. High ground, views to Mt. Washington.

I don't think there is a livable 2nd floor. The pictures show a pull down stairway to the acttic.

In my book, that's a huge negative (proximity to NYC and northern NJ and traffic and ...)

I don't see too many things wrong with this property except the price and the placement

Damn, that place is so small, you'd have to go outside just to change your mind.
