24. I definitely owe DU

Especially EarlG and Elad (and if he is still around Skinner) in addition to the community here.

I am generally not a huge fan of the internet in itself. I could never take to apolitical sites like Substack let alone Facebook, TikTok etc.

I owe DU. It’s the only type of site I could use. It’s not either tech alone or humans alone. The specific humans and the specific tech matter.

This site’s moderation makes it trustworthy. I assume spooks and social engineers are all over the web these days. But at least here they are kept in check by the admins. The only chatbot I ever used was an obscure British chatbot whose owner seemed decent unlike those OpenAI//Google/FB creeps.

I only even have WhatsApp on my phone because I respect Yan LeCun unlike that collection of sleazy creeps you find at Google etc.

Trust cannot be bought.
