9. To everyone who expressed their concern for my friend Linda

I'd like to give you a brief update on how she is doing.

She was discharged from the rehab facility and has been home now for two weeks. She can do very little for herself so I have been attending to her needs. Her left arm is practically useless. We saw her orthopedic surgeon this past Thursday. He advised against doing surgery on that arm because trying to insert a rod into the broken humerus would be too risky since that bone is (as he described it) 'moth eaten'.

We also saw her oncologist this past Friday. He confirmed that she does have bone cancer which metastasized from her earlier breast cancer. The doctor is planning to begin her treatment in two weeks after the financial issues are approved by Medicare. We also have home heathcare people coming two or three time a week for PT and OT.

Please keep her in your prayers, send her good thoughts ... whatever your beliefs may be.
