16. Loving that old steam engine. Those things were a fixture in Western Kentucky tobacco farming

They were used to steam the tobacco plant beds in February to heat up the ground so the seeds would sprout. The plant bed was covered in cheesecloth to hold in the heat.

I do not think they are used anymore since farmers now get their plants ready to go in the ground so they no longer sprout seeds

They were awesome and beautiful old machines.
