she was raked through the coals with their usual GOP-manufactured smear job, regarding her hubby's minority-owned bank stock, and her advocating for minority banks in general for bailouts like the "big banks" were getting during the "Great (GOP-caused) Recession" -

Rep. Maxine Waters Cleared By House Ethics Committee

(they eventually blamed the GOP-headed Committee investigative staff for mishandling the investigation)
