List of its senators

List of governors

Political party strength

The last time a Democrat was elected senator over there was in 1970.

Republicans have had majorities in the state legislature nearly every session since 1939.

Only twice since 1944 did WY vote D for president (Truman and LBJ).

Since 1944, only one Democrat has been elected to the WY single US house district, Teno Roncalio for non consecutive terms in the '60s and 70s. (One of WY’s reps, William Henry Harrison III, was a descendant of both Presidents Harrison.)

But for governor, Wyoming did have two Democrats in charge from 1975-95, then another from 2003-11, Dave Freudenthal, who like Gray Davis in my state of CA was an outlier in the Republican landslide year of 2002. Then in 2006, Wyoming had an odd bipartisan landslide we won’t see for decades: Freudenthal won re election by 40 points, same margin as R senator Craig Thomas!
