It’s even money that there are software “kill switches” installed on any complex arms we sell. If it is done for tractors and trains, it is probably done for arms.

Of course it might not be necessary, as you pointed out. High tech vehicles and weapons need frequent preventative maintenance, and parts will quickly run out.
