although definitely helpful, money doesn't always guarantee a win. I remember when Jaime Harrison far outraised Lindsey Graham for the SC Senate seat and lost by 10%.

There needs to be some other motivator - and unfortunately the best one is the one that gets people angry enough to want to make a change.
