In 2021, they had earlier tried to run to TX to reincorporate and try to file bankruptcy and that was batted away - Judge Dismisses NRA Bankruptcy Case, Heightening Risk For Dissolution Of Group

So they pretty much forced LaPierre out in early 2024 - NRA chief, one of the most powerful figures in US gun policy, says he’s resigning days before trial

They went to trial and lost when they were found liable - Jury finds NRA, Wayne LaPierre liable in civil corruption case

They installed new leadership last May (former Congressman & Libertarian candidate for President Bob Barr) - NRA names new leadership to replace former CEO found liable for wrongly spending millions

The latest from NY (from this past December) - Attorney General James Secures Court Victory Against NRA

NRA's spin - NRA Successfully Resolves Longstanding Legal Battle with New York Attorney General

(i.e., LaPierre and the other guy have to pay the judgement and not the organization themselves but they still have to reorganize their governance)

So they are still around but hanging by a thread.
