Is because they’re all so guilty of it. It’s pure projection. They think their shit doesn’t stink and they suspect everyone is worse than them. They’re always thwarted by the truth, discovering instead that the needy are just needy, and the real grifters are all at the top tier of income earners, having stolen and conned their way up there.
