Chechen dictator Ramzan Kadyrov has asked Russian President Vladimir Putin if he can resign as head of the Chechen Republic, he told Russian state-controlled media Chechnya Today on May 6.

1. Kyadyrov has been ill for a long time. 2 years ago, he was swollen up with steriods and barely able to walk. He got some sort of reprieve over the last 2 years, but the drugs have stopped working or the transplant has failed and he might be down to a matter of days or weeks.
2. He has transferred his assets to family, sent the family to Dubai and has negotiated with the Sheikh to keep the family and his assets safe from Putin's grasping hands. Reportedly, Putin is furious.
3. He's the glue that has held Chechnya together. When he's gone, it is likely to blow apart again, giving Russia a civil war to cope with along with Putin's mess in Ukraine
4. Khadyrov is only going to leave his office feet first. There is no way Putin, who is as silent as the tomb over the attempt at resignation, will allow him to follow his family and his money out of the country and out of his control.
5. hzcyfov's only named possible successor is a 17 year old kid. Good luck to him and the Red Sox.
I'm posting this because it is such bad news for Putin. It might take a while, or it might happen quickly, but it will happen.
