about 30 years ago. It was in mid-September when the weather forecast was - Monday - sunny, high 95, Tuesday, partly cloudy, high 96, Wednesday, mostly sunny, high 96, Thursday... Wash. Rinse. Repeat.

Saw my first fire ant (actually a swarm of them) next to a trashcan near the hotel pool. On the road from Houston to Galveston, I wanted to sing some Glen Campbell!
