Trump was telling us to drink bleach; supply chains were disrupted and we were wiping our asses with coffee filters and wondering whether each cough or sniffle was a sign of impending death. That was about the most pessimistic time I remember, worse even than the '70s stagflation when you had to wait in long lines to buy gas and home mortgages were 16%, or the crash of 2008. And here we are again, just because the world's biggest moron had some galactically stupid ideas, and this is even worse than 2020 because it was self-inflicted and there seems to be no way out.
