MYRTLE BEACH, S.C. — The South Carolina Law Enforcement Division is investigating an officer-involved shooting that injured multiple people and killed one.
The Myrtle Beach Police Department said on their Facebook that Saturday, at approximately 11:50 p.m., officers with the Myrtle Beach Police Department observed a disturbance involving multiple individuals on North Ocean Boulevard.
Police say that during the altercation, one individual began firing a weapon. At that time, based on the immediate threat, one their officers responded by discharging their firearm. The officer involved was not injured.
11 individuals have been identified as having sustained injuries during this incident and are receiving medical treatment, according to police.
