In reply to the discussion: America's struggling wine industry is getting crushed by global tariffs and Canada's retaliation to them [View all]Raftergirl
(1,673 posts)22. I rarely buy American wine. Mostly I buy Australian or Chilean wine.
My sons college roommate freshman year father owns wineries in CA. Extremely expensive wine. I bought one of the cheapest bottles once. It was $60. https://farniente.com/
The son is very liberal, no idea about the rest of his family.
One of my sons roommates was Warren Rudmans grandson. I had no idea and when the guys came for a weekend, right after 2016 election, I was railing about how all Republicans are pure evil. My kid pulled me over after and told me who is grandfather was. I was like oops! Then a few weeks later Warren died and I felt really badly. The grandson is a D and did not vote for the moron.
They are all still good friend.

OP
Poor Canada, forced to drink French, Italian, Chilean and New Zealand wines. Trump's an idiot.

Tariffs mean Americans will drink American wine and rest of the world will drink non-American wine

I'm not really a wine drinker and I use reds just in cooking. I prefer champagne or Prosecco instead

What a shame. We visited about 5 years ago. Darling little town. We also went to Deep Eddy Vodka
