For one thing, if I were Xi I'd be asking myself the same question about Taiwan that Hitler asked himself in 1938: "What is to be gained by waiting?" Our military leadership has probably never been more incompetent, which has to effect the morale of the entire structure.

Secondly, China owns $760.80 billion in U.S. Treasury securities.

Thirdly, it is so disrespectful. China can hurt us in ways we cannot even imagine if it wants to.

It reflects poorly on all of us, because people in China see what Vance says and think "Americans think this about us" and decide they hate all of us.
