I don't think the government was really tracking protesters so much as AI was invading people's social media accounts and marking them as a target.

So don't make the mistake that these were "violent" activists causing disruption. Some may be, but I am willing to bet that most of them are just of the "wrong" background and have posted anti Trump or pro Palestine content on their social media.

Even if they did attend some protests, it is wrong to target them for that, we are a nation that protects protest, even for visitors.
