DU3 actually seems to be okay. I don't see any major improvement from a user's perspective, but it's not really any worse either.

I guess change can be scary or at least disagreeable at first. Change takes getting used to.

And I think I've gotten used to DU3 now.

However, I still think that Gnome 3 is a disgusting heap of garbage. The Cinnamon desktop from the Linux Mint people (Clem, etc.) looks to be a promising replacement. I'm using it now, and it is improving quickly.
