1. This was not a proposed cut to "humanitarian aid" as the NYT frames it. Bullshit.

But the NYT didn't come up with that framing on its own.

Jeffries said it MIGHT affect humanitarian aid and embassy operations in Israel - yet clearly the funding cut was meant to target EXACTLY the $3.3 billion in aid to purchase offensive weapons.

If anyone can point me to Israel funding ANY humanitarian assistance to Palestinians through the $3.3B in annual military aid - I would love to hear from them, but I won't hold my breath.

Pro-Israel groups are very happy indeed.

The Democratic base? Probably not so much.
