He is calling Democrats "communist" to signal to his base that it is the intent of Democrats to take away rights, etc. Specifically, the capitalism that they all know and love.

You come on down to Texas and tell Bubba that he can't have his car repair shop "bidness" because some "Dumocrat" wants emission control, etc. You tell them that Dumocrats want to take away their right to earn a living, etc. Tell them they want to take away their right to pray to their Christian God, and that their kids are going to be assaulted in public bathrooms by some trans-thing that is an abomination.

That's what he will mean when he says "communist", and his ignorant, shit-for-brains base will soak up and believe every single word.
