I think Idiocracy is definitely really good, but it's way too kind when it comes to human nature. As long as we are allowed to choose who we have kids with, there are going to be a whole lot of people with true merit, whether that be IQ, EQ, beauty, skill, whatever.

The question really is what a huge majority of idiots, be they religious fanatics or just bands of wildly divergent, angry, mentally lost people do. In a true Idiocracy, without AI, the two smart people from the past wouldn't last five seconds.
