6. This sounds horrible for these families, but no one is allowed on base without proper identification.

Our son joined the Marines in 2001. We went down to MCRD in San Diego for his graduation. It is a very emotional day. However, we had to show proper ID to attend; but I don't remember exactly what after all these years. If the family members are undocumented, they would have to be waiting outside the gates somewhere. It sounds like another way for Trump and ICE to terrorize people.
