It seems as if he talked mostly on the edge of things. That he came right up to the line but never crossed it. And then he would let people's inference do the rest. Then when he got called on it, he could deny actually making the statement he was being accused of.

I'll be honest, I knew he existed. I knew he liked to stir things up. But I never paid much attention. Just because there was really nothing new about his act.

He made over the top statements supporting conservatives and MAGAs to younger people. And wealthy donors gave him a lot of money. He's nothing more than the crazy campus preachers who happened to get the attention of rich donors.
