Democratic members of Congress sharply criticized the Supreme Courts Friday ruling that limited district courts use of nationwide injunctions in a case challenging President Donald Trumps executive order seeking to end birthright citizenship.
The court did not rule on whether the Trump administration has legal standing to revoke birthright citizenship for the children of some immigrants. Yet Democrats warned the decision paves the way for a vile betrayal of our Constitution, Rep. Debbie Wasserman Schultz (D-Fla.) said in a social media post.
The Supreme Courts decision today will result in the infringement of Americans rights for years to come. Limiting nationwide injunctions will have long-lasting effects on our courts, ceding even more power to the executive branch and providing justice only to those with the means or luck to have a lawyer, Sen. Catherine Cortez Masto (D-Nev.) said in a statement. The Fourteenth Amendment is clear: if youre born in the United States, youre an American citizen.

Please note:
The Supreme Court did not actually uphold Trump on birthright citizenship. At least not yet. They just got the district courts off his back in numerous particular cases.
But I do expect "the big one to drop" very soon.
