6. I live in a very small red town.

I knew a guy who was true "salt of the earth." He was actually a Baptist Pastor in a local church, retired now, presumably moved away. I would run into him somewhat often in the local supermarket.

ANYWAY...

...the guy was very kind to me, well-spoken, articulate, and during the height of COVID, he said he "didn't believe in it," it was "all made up."

So there are not always "absolutes" out there. The flip side is that I've also known some GENIUNELY TOXIC people, meaning once you get past the red hat, the remaining content of their character is even more toxic. I don't care about them one way or another. The ones who sadden me are the ones who are basically decent people who made the mistake of listening to, and believing, people who are not decent at all.
