Of course Vlad the Invader is going to test NATO air defenses since the drones don't risk any of his pilots or crews. The drone incursions would seem to confirm his plan is to rebuild the Russian empire. Control of Ukraine which borders on former SSRs Poland, Slovakia, Hungary, Romania, and Moldova would make that plan much more achievable.
