From what we know now, the pastor did not work for TPUSA (what an odd thing to say - TPUSA is not even based in Utah).

Also, Utah has quite a strong LGBTQ community, including communities of faith. (I'm not saying the shooter is LGBTQ -- that's just the areas I have had experience with when I have been to Utah, and it's a topic that can indicate where a faith community is on the conservative-to-progressive scale.) Laws have been comparatively progressive, only starting to turn more conservative on controversial topics more recently.

Regardless, we'll know a bit more soon.
