Why is the 47 regime so hellbent on sabotage? [View all]

The consequences of every action are blatantly destructive. The only word that seems to fit is sabotage. But why??

Whatever is going on, every action can be understood as having one (or some combination) of the following three goals:

1) manipulate information and oppress dissent to create a shared fantasy of godlike superiority of “the chosen” to cushion their eggshell egos,

2) amass personal wealth and power as “proof” of superiority,

3) sabotage America's prosperity and ability to act as positive force for values of global citizenship. (Values like economic justice, human-rights, rule of law, religious freedom, and self-governance, and the thinking underlying those values, among them rationality, compassion as a moral imperative, and scientific inquiry.)

It seems that the South African tech bros are particularly motived by resentment of “the west” for "ruining" their apartheid state. They happily find bedfellows in the dictators who share their hatred and stoke anti-western political undercurrents here and abroad. Acts of sabotage, particularly if they also advance goals 1 and or 2, are high on the agenda.

I think goal 3 comes into play for 47 not as some ideological “anti-western” stance, per se, but rather as a personal vendetta against the NY/DC corridor “elites” who deigned to associate with him but never accepted him as part of the “club.” It was certainly humiliating to be tolerated but never really invited in. But even worse for him, there were many who openly ridiculed him as obnoxious, gauche, shallow, purely transactional, and racist. I'm not sure how this plays into his own hatred of democratic values. Maybe he came to believe the “powerbrokers” of NY/DC society were “against him” out of their intellectual embrace of pro-western / democratic / global citizenship values. Whatever the connection, for a narcissistic psychopath, the narcissistic wounds were deep and, tragically for the world, we are reaping the consequences in the rage, passive aggression, and overwhelming need to restore his place -- at least in the tortured emptiness of his own mind -- as a superior being in total control.
