(9,688 posts)41. My Mom was 92 when she passed 3 years ago.
May her memories always be with you. I am sorry for your loss.
It was both hard and heartening going through all of Mom's things, but looking at all the old photos and memorabilia was comforting to me, and finding ways to save a few of her treasures and some family heirlooms, like my grandfather's fiddle and grandmother's hand-made quilts.
Her generation saw so many changes--my Mom grew up on a farm without electricity, running water or telephones and lived long enough to see astronauts on the moon, computers and smart phones. They survived the Depression, two world wars and a global pandemic. We can all learn a lot from their tenacity and resiliency.
