My mom passed in 2022 and my cousin gave me the best advice: Grief is like a bitter hard candy lodged in your throat and it will be there a long time unless you accept it and allow yourself to taste it in small increments so it slowly melts. If you don't do that it's going to choke you all at once when you least expect it.

I wish for you that your grief is cathartic and productive and filled with the best memories.
