(113,931 posts)Omniscience, infalllibility, perfection in every way, those have been his more obvious delusions since he first got his hands on his daddy's money. What is harder to see is the flip side of megalomania, deep paranoia, because the one thing absolutely perfect men have to fear is attacks by imperfect men who are jealous of omniscience, infallibility, and perfection in every way.
I'd hazard a guess that most of our presidents have been blowhards to one extent or another, we can manage those just fine. It's when the paranoia starts to surface that the damage is done. As example #1, I give you Richard Nuxon, whose paranoia led to the militarization of domestic police and the start of a heavy handed war on drugs, both of which are massive tools of civil oppression that have increased every single year.
I'd suggest paranoia will be the major problem with the rest of this administration. That's where the real damage is done.
