I lived in the Haight Ashbury when Peter Coyote was founding member of The Diggers, which helped to feed and clothe the many homeless kids who moved to the Haight with nothing but dreams and a primordial search for belonging. The quoted article states many truths, but it is up to all of us to fight back, as he and so many of us did in the 60's. Perhaps it's time for a reincarnation of a more overtly political version of The Diggers?
