Instead of being remembered as the most progressive president since LBJ, who had the best economy since LBJ, Biden, like LBJ, will be remembered most for one significant failure.

LBJ’s failure was Viet Nam; Biden’s was his stubborn insistence on running for a second term, when it was clear to many even in his inner circle that his age and fitness would be the central focus of the campaign, whether deserved or not.
