supposed to be "arm's length" transactions in order to be legal. Arm's length means that you are not involved in orchestrating and directing how the transaction takes place. In this case Crumb The 1st is entirely involved in every move. When that is the case the person involved does not get to claim this as exempt from gift tax for example and as far as them trying to get around the Emoluments Clause by claiming it is a gift to the government rather than to Crumb The 1st himself they also don't get past that "arm's length" basis and in fact by constructing this scenario they could plausibly be charged with committing fraud. If we ever had an AG who actually upheld the law.
