at Syracuse University day before New York Primary in 1992. Bunch of us who were volunteering got to meet them on campus. I had just got out of Air Force, was in library school, starting a new life. Only had a few minutes with them, but it was really obvious they were serious people who had a serious plan.
And forgive me for saying so, but it struck me that Hillary was the smarter of two really smart and driven people. I subsequently met her years later when she was a US Senator and I was the director of a large public library and active in New York Library Association. Again, very smart and very knowledgeable, even when talking about library funding issues and library service in ethnically diverse communities.
I think she would have been a better president than Bill. I guess we will never know, though!
