46. here's a 2nd hand obama story.

when he was a senator, 1 of my kid’s teacher’s hubs was brutally murdered. stabbed repeatedly. he was a dermo, slain in his downtown office. cops couldnt do anything. they only had a grainy bit of video of him leaving the bldg. but their son wd not let it rest.
he scoured the internet, on a hunch that the guy had been 1 of his patients. turns out the guy had been given a rx for retinol, and had a psychotic break. he found him on a message board where ppl bitched about bad docs.

an arrest warrant was issued. the guy was entitled to french citizenship, and fled there. they gave him a passport, and refused to extradite him cuz he was subject to the death penalty.
both durbin and obama tried to get the french to send him back but failed. the teacher wouldnt tell me exactly what he did, just that he went ‘above and beyond’ for her. knowing him, that meant hugs, meals, phone calls, etc.

he was eventually tried in france, convicted and iirc is serving life in prison.
not that i needed any more reasons to work my heart out for him in 08, but….
