Shutdown Deal Reached -- Did Democrats Give Up Too Much? - What A Day

On Sunday evening, senators from both parties reached a deal that could bring an end to the government shutdown, which has lasted well over a month. The deal would include a new stopgap measure that would fund the government through January, plus three different spending measures.

This is about the big DEM donors complaining about the Mamdani win. They're threatening to withhold funding because the rank and file Democrats voted overwhelmingly for a democratic socialist. They're more concerned with the money they'll lose because of the continued shutdown than they are about working people's food and healthcare costs going up. They were holding out this whole time over ACA funding and now they agree to a deal that not only doesn't have the ACA but we may be losing other funding as well while ICE and deployed NG are still burning money attacking brown people in blue cities but not actually going after criminals. Also, they're giving out contracts for detention centers and even paying bounty hunters while a more efficient and fair border enforcement program was proposed by Lankford of OK and Republicans shut it down on orders from Trump so he could use crime and the border as a platform to run on. Democrats should be constantly reminding the public. The Republicans are offering a solution to a problem they created as a substitute for solving real problems that affect Americans like housing costs, food costs, health care (they contributed to these problems as well).
