Visibly uncomfortable Elon freaks out over interview question - Brian Tyler Cohen

Narrator: but the interview didn't get off to a
smooth start.

Interviewer: i noticed that all of your
businesses involve a lot of components a
lot of parts do the tariffs and the
trade wars affect any of this?

Elon: uh you
know tariffs always affect things a
little bit.

Interviewer: wondering what your thought
is on the ban on foreign students the
proposal i mean you were one of those
kids right?

Elon: yeah i I mean I think we want to stick
to you know the the subject of the day
which is like spaceships uh as opposed
to you know presidential policy.

Interviewer: oh okay
uh I was told anything's good but...

Elon: no, well no.

BTC: i got to say for a political party
that has predicated so much of its
identity on how tough and alpha they are
they sure do turn into little puddles of
tears the second they leave the
protective warmth of their safe space i
mean honestly I have spent the better
part of a decade hearing about how the
left needs their participation trophies
and safe spaces and yet look what
happens when this guy who by the way has
every advantage known to man is forced
to suffer the indignity of answering a
single question that isn't blowing smoke
up his ass what I would give to see one
of these self-proclaimed strong men for
once not be such a whiny little
you'll notice too how the moment Elon
clams up is when he's forced to
recognize his own hypocrisy he gets to
benefit as a foreigner coming into the
United States to learn to grow his
businesses to get rich off the backs of
American workers and American consumers
but is complicit in an administration
preventing anybody else from doing the
same he saw the massive unprecedented
advantages that it afforded him and
rather than allowing that strategy to
replicate itself for other people he
simply opts to pull the ladder up behind
him wealth for me none for thee in fact
the greatest irony of Musk's Doge
efforts is that while he rails against
all of this purported waste fraud and
abuse and handouts from the federal
government it's worth noting that his
own companies benefited from a
staggering $ 38 billion in government
funding $ 38 billion and yet what did he
do when he was given cart blanch with
the federal government he gutted USAD
which gives clean drinking water to the
impoverished and delivers HIV prevention
services he gutted the Consumer
Financial Protection Bureau which
ensures that Americans have recourse if
they are defrauded by predatory banking
institutions he guarded the Department
of Labor which fields workplace safety
violation complaints in other words he
gets every advantage in the world thanks
to our system of government and yet when
he's in control ensures that no one
deres any benefit other than of course
himself to the tune of billions of
dollars in additional contracts thanks
to the Trump administration if you're
looking for a welfare queen we've got
the king of queens right here and it's
not just Elon his entire political party
exists to attack society's most
vulnerable shipping healthcare away from
13.7 million Americans gutting 300
billion in food assistance look my
underlying political philosophy is this
the government should exist for people
who need it not for people who don't
government should be there to ensure a
minimum standard of living that means
for the folks who need health care they
have access to healthcare for the folks
who need food assistance they get access
to food assistance the folks who need
help with housing they have help with
housing not the people who already have
millions or billions of dollars now the
rich are going to try and justify
gobbling up all of those resources by
claiming that trickle down economics is
the only way to deliver help to the
working class it has to go through them
first and they've been saying the same
thing since this concept was debuted
around 1980 and yet what do you think
has happened to income inequality since
1980 in theory if trickon economics was
a thing that worked it would have
eliminated income inequality right after
all we've had nearly half a century of
of a tax code that overwhelmingly
benefits the wealthiest Americans and
yet this is what income inequality
actually looks like look at what
happened in 1981 look how income
inequality has exploded more and more
and more every single year since if
trickle down worked then why is that gap
growing larger when more wealth is being
sent to the rich should mean that more
of it should trickle down it's because
that's all and everybody knows
it's but the people writing and
passing our laws are rich they are
funded by people who are rich and they
are looking out for themselves and their
donors and this is what we're left with
but never before has it been as
egregious as what we're seeing right now
the Republican budget that the GOP is
passing today would be the biggest
transfer of wealth from the poor to the
rich in US history so if you think like
me that the government should be there
to help the people who need it not the
people who already have everything then
you should oppose this bill with every
fiber of your being in fact that's a
point that Congressman Daniel Goldman
echoed here in our latest interview they
don't think that our safety net programs
uh are worthwhile they think tax cuts
for billionaires are far more important
than making sure children can eat that's
where their priorities lie that's what
this reconciliation bill did and in
combination as you point out with the
tariff tax which is just going to
increase prices it's going to increase
inflation and so many more millions of
Americans not getting health care not
getting food assistance it is going to
result in people dying because of
Republican policies and you see how much
they care from Joanie Ernst which is not
at all because we're all going to die so
who cares if you die sooner rather than
later uh you aren't worthy of being in
this country and seeking the American
dream and that in combination with this
immigration policy which is basically
just a xenophobic attack on foreigners
uh that's who the Republican party is
today it is uh people who no longer
believe that the American dream exists
no longer believe that we are a country
of immigrants where people come for
freedom for liberty to pursue the
American dream that's not what they're
looking for or they are just looking to
give the halves even more and to try to
go back to the 1950s in where the world
of white supremacy so look as far as
Elon is concerned I understand that he
doesn't want to answer any questions
that aren't fawning i get that when you
have that much money you don't usually
have to face any disscent because you
are surrounded by sickopants and yesmen
i get that he isn't used to not always
getting what he wants but and I want to
say this as diplomatically as possible
if this thinks that he can
gut essential services and lifelines for
millions of people fire thousands of
veterans and deprive generations of kids
from cancer research funding all to help
himself get just a little bit richer and
not have to answer for it he is as
delusional as the day is long and
frankly I don't know if if it's the
alleged ketamine or if he's that deluded
all on his own but that guy for
thinking that he's somehow immune to
accountability if he wants to avoid
discomfort maybe he should take that up
with folks who can no longer access HIV
prevention treatment because of him
maybe he should take that up with folks
who will be defrauded by banks with no
recourse because of him maybe he should
take that up with the thousands of vets
and government workers who are now
unemployed because of him him thinking
this interview is uncomfortable exposes
how out of touch what a ghoul this guy
really is so my message to any reporters
or journalists who are able to speak to
Elon remember that he doesn't get to
dictate where an interview goes he
doesn't get to evade responsibility for
upending the lives of millions of people
both in the US and around the world just
because he doesn't feel like being held
accountable for his own actions he put
himself in the public eye he donated
almost $300 million to ensure that
Donald Trump won the 2024 election he
held a government position we didn't
force him into the public sector hell we
didn't even want him to be in the public
sector that was his conscious decision
and he is a grownass man and with that
decision comes responsibilities like
answering for his own actions if Elon
wants a safe space he shouldn't have put
himself in this role where he could
dictate where billions of dollars were
being allocated but he did he made his
bed now he has to lie in it.
