====================
I already know that Trump cannot feel humiliation so let's avoid discussion about the clickbait title.

Transcript:
trump gets blinded by shiny objects in
the Middle East and can't make out what
things really look like back home This
is just another
day Donald Trump's cash grab uh sorry
official state visit to the Middle East
is winding down but before heading home
today he held a round table with other
prominent business leaders to talk about
how they could help the small mom and
pop shops right here in the US who are
suffering during this time of economic
uncertainty We're surrounded by the uh
some of the greatest business people in
the world Uh we just uh had a tremendous
order of Boeing This is Boeing and this
is General Electric And General Electric
I hear makes the best large airplane
engine in the world by not even a
contest Sorry did I say mom and pop
shops I meant major defense contractors
Yep As everyday Americans continue to
wonder when the liberation part of
liberation day is going to kick in Trump
thought this would be a good time to
brag about the big beautiful deals he's
made for our military contractors The
White House even released a fact sheet
And in an might Shyamalan twist it looks
like our country is about to do a whole
lot of business with Qatar I think
everybody can plainly see what's going
on here When it comes to Trump and
bribery the sky's is the limit He's
simply accepting a $400 million jet with
strings attached No pun intended Trump
spent his time at this round table not
simply kissing the asses of these
defense contractors but bashing
everybody else who wasn't doing the same
We're going to be uh I think I can
mention I'm not sure if the press will
understand this but we we've devoted
I've devoted I find it number one I find
it fascinating If you don't like things
you're not going to do well But I do I
find it amazing That's why I'm so
looking forward to watching some of the
power that uh they purchase at great
price How hard is it to say you like
something without insulting everybody
else in front of you Nobody else
operates that way You don't see quotes
on billboards saying The Last of Us an
amazing show you're too stupid to
understand But to be fair when you are
the president of the United States
traveling overseas you have a front row
seat to the full might of America's
military And it must be incredibly
impressive or as Trump would describe it
and nobody's ever seen like you know
they circled the plane eight of them and
we're landing so now we're there and it
was really a display of beauty and we
heard it too we were in the plane I said
what is that is the sound of an
uninformed commander-in-chief not the
best idea as the leader of our armed
forces to advertise how surprised you
are by their capability and it wasn't
just the sound of our planes that threw
our president for a loop he also had
some thoughts on how how they look
sometimes you know stealth they do
stealth I'm not a huge believer in
stealth because stealth is basically a
lot of it's the design and the shape and
you know I'm sure you maybe think but
also if if if that's the case they're
going to figure it out pretty fast I
think So you're going to design an ugly
plane for stealth reasons and then 6
months later they're going to figure out
this then you're stuck with a plane
That's right Trump hates wasting tons of
cash on ugly things unless you can wear
them on your feet But even though Trump
spent an inordinate amount of time on
his vapid ruminations on our nation's
aircrafts he also made sure to carve out
space in his schedule to highlight his
knowledge of what I'm guessing he'd call
the underland wet part We're also doing
very heavy on submarines We have a lead
on submarines that I don't think unless
you have a really really stupid group of
people including the president I don't
think anybody can catch us on submarines
We have uh sub our submarine uh in
particular the late the late model is
we're we're 15 years advanced on the
submarine Nobody can even come close It
can uh stay underwater for 30 years
Think of it The only reason it has to
come up is for food Yep Other than food
it can stay underwater for 30 years The
only thing the only thing they need on
board is the essential substance for
human survival But besides that 30 years
without even so much as a peep Although
I think I understand why food is a bit
of a foreign concept for this guy
Groceries where they have a term grocery
It's an old term but it means basically
what you're buying food It's pretty
accurate term but it's an oldfashioned
sound Why groceries I haven't heard that
word in years I remember when me and my
gal would jump and pop Stude Baker and
before Sally Fington local hoot nanny
we'd stop off and gather what we called
groceries But if there was one
overarching point to Trump's message
today it was this We've taken a country
that was scoffed at and we're we're the
hottest country in the world right now
We're going to keep it that way That's
right Our country is hot right now We're
the talk of the town because to this
president there's no such thing as bad
press
Unfortunately there's a lot of bad press
He's putting a 30% tax on Americans He's
making it more expensive for American
businesses to get the inputs they need
to be competitive on the rest of the
world He's making it harder for moms and
dads to get by At the Port of Los
Angeles incoming cargo is down some 25%
30% tariff is you know a lot less
painful than 145% But even at 30% it's
it's still a nightmare As a business I
don't know how you really plan when it's
really trade policy and fits and starts
Where is the win What did Donald Trump
get out of this negotiation There's no
precedent here right There's no playbook
We don't actually know what happens to a
modern economy after going through this
many shocks in this short amount of time
but we're about to find out How exciting
In the around and find out economic
experiment Trump has definitely
around and Americans are in the midst of
finding out it ain't that great And this
is where I'm confused When Trump
proposed his tariffs back in April the
pitch was that we'd be swimming in so
much cash not only would every American
company move production back to the
United States external revenue service
would collect the billions we'd be
making from foreign countries banging
down America's door to sell their goods
here What happened to that plan If your
goal is to have tariffs stay high then
in theory you can bring in some revenue
right But if you have zero ships coming
from China and remember on Friday there
was a 12-h hour period reported there
was zero ships leaving Chinese ports to
bring consumer goods to West Coast ports
that means you're not going to collect
tariffs because nobody's bringing in any
imports right I guess Trump forgot that
in an economy when it comes to the
exchange of goods for money you need the
exchange part to happen if the whole
thing is going to work But if you're
really looking to take a pulse on
America's financial stability there's no
better place to turn than the world's
largest retailer Walmart The world's
largest retailer is issuing a new
warning today warning the company will
have to raise prices due to President
Trump's tariffs Well it's a good thing
Americans don't shop at that silly niche
pop-up boutique
uh Walmart Surely a company of this size
can weather this storm right We're wired
to keep prices low for customers Uh but
the level of tariffs that have been
proposed is pretty challenging for all
retailers for suppliers and and
certainly our concern is that consumers
are going to feel some of that Look I
love shopping at a store that's the size
of a small regional airport to find a
coffee maker that costs less than the
coffee I put in it as much as the next
guy But quick aside here maybe the
world's largest retailer that makes
billions in profits every year and whose
employees still find themselves at the
top of the list when it comes to
Medicaid and food stamps you know
taxpayer funded programs don't have to
raise their prices on consumers Just an
idea But that being said Trump's trade
policy isn't simply confounding for
American consumers It also is for
Walmart's CFO John Rainey How do you
think about taking advantage of
potentially a lower rate tariff
situation
Yeah Well that's the crystal ball that
all retailers wish they had right now is
to try to figure out where tariffs going
to be at what point in time so they can
manage their inventory flow You want a
crystal ball dude Your own store has you
covered for 25 bucks That's a steal But
I get it Knowing the future or having a
president who laid out a trade policy in
a coherent manner instead of a tariff
roller coaster he haphazardly
reconstructs on the daily would also be
nice We've not seen a period where
you've had prices go up this high this
quickly We're we're we're well equipped
and experienced in dealing with
elasticities or price increases that are
going up 2 or 3% But not 30% So the guy
in charge of a store that can equip you
for anything is saying they are not
equipped to handle Trump's trade
boondoggle If they can't who can Trump
is happy to shut along the luxury
carpets rolled out for him by his
billionaire friends and brag about what
a boon this trip has been for a handful
of defense contractors All while tons of
small business owners and regular
Americans suffer under the pain of his
self-inflicted trade war Or to put that
another way we're the hottest country in
the world right now so hot.

(3,361 posts)1. serious concern here -
Trump's brain is basically mush at this point.
Given the way he's been talking, would he even be competent to stand trial if he's ever indicted once he leaves office?

(1,981 posts)2. I don't watch these because I'm always disappointed
However, let me make a basic statement.
Trump embarrasses us when he goes overseas. Every time.
The impact of this trip is going to be with us for a long time.
Trump kills everything he touches.
He has killed the American Empire. We are the fools of the globe now.
