(109,933 posts)I often think of my former colleagues who were targeted at many institutions & agencies during and after COVID-19--and even more so, Anthony Fauci. Such honorable people just trying to do the best they could for the public health and in the name of science, yet...
I hope I live long enough to see things turn around... sigh
same sigh.

(819 posts)I love all of their subchannels ... Matters Microbial, with Doc Martin and the weekly Clinical Update, with Dr Daniel Griffin are among my favorites. I sort of miss the 'Q&A with A&V' series with Vincent Racaniello & Amy Rosenfeld. First of all, they are both brilliant scientists. I really enjoyed hearing their takes on various virology topics. But they also had this very quirky relationship that was oddly engaging.
Among my favorite things are the group discussions of various papers and studies that are brought to their attention ... really great. And I must say, RIP Dr Dickson Despommier ... I always looked forward to his contributions.
Yep, MicrobeTV (TWiV) rocks: https://www.youtube.com/@MicrobeTV

(30,443 posts)I never found them until this year! All through covid I got my information from MedCram and it was good. I just don't get why it never popped up on my feed.
I watch all the shows. I only understand maybe 25% of a lot of the science but I'm learning more all the time. Plus the way they are standing up and helping to fill in the holes left by this disastrous administration, and advocating. Dr Racaniello is as pissed off as we are here on DU, and he does not mince words.

(819 posts)... but that is one of the joys of each show. I really like hearing smart people talk about complex topics, even if I don't get a lot of it. But they are 'sort of' making an effort to explain ... once in a while ... as they go along. And I'm finding that I can get a bit of an idea what they're getting at, 'if' I can stay focused enough to hear the context.
Thanks for calling attention to MicrobeTV!
