Albanians tear down construction site in on-going protests over Kushner-backed private island - The Independent

Albanian protesters have torn down a construction site during ongoing demonstrations against a Jared Kushner-backed luxury resort.

Since May, demonstrators have gathered outside the construction site of the multi-billion-euro project linked to Kushner and Ivanka Trump.

They say that plans for the development on Sazan Island and a site at Zvernec, near the coastal city of Vlora, pose a threat to flamingos and other wildlife and eco-systems.

Footage shows protesters, many carrying Albanian flags, toppling containers and tearing down temporary buildings at the site.

Prime Minister Edil Rama is facing calls to resign after backing the development.
