COP30 Climate Deal Excludes Fossil Fuel Phaseout

Global negotiations at the annual U.N. climate summit ended Saturday in Belém, Brazil, with a watered-down agreement that does not even mention fossil fuels, let alone offer a roadmap to phase out what are the primary contributors to the climate crisis. The COP30 agreement also makes no new commitments to halt deforestation and does not address global meat consumption, another major driver of global warming.

1. It's tragic that the US chose to not participate. As one of the top polluters on the planet

it is a direct insult to those nations that a reaping the consequences of our actions. To add insult to injury we have also taken a hard right turn by promoting the use of fossil fuels and dirty energy.

Greed and narcissism drive our actions, and I view it as a crime against humanity. Religion and technology is not going to save us or the planet from our bad choices.
