According to one of the individuals familiar with the situation, Kimmel’s planned Wednesday monologue as “very hot,” taking aim at the MAGA base. He planned to address the right-wing backlash to his remarks made earlier in the week regarding the politicalization of Charlie Kirk’s killing.

It was then that Disney executives had conversations with Kimmel about “taking down the temperature” of his monologue, according to the individual. Nexstar announced its plan to pull Kimmel’s show at the same time. - Aired on 09/18/2025.

While rational fact-based speech is considered actionable and toxic and fireable.

Here, anc clearly wants all the profits Kimmel generates for them without the flak they're getting from Donnie, and they're asking the victim of a baseless and outrageous government attack to take one for the team while they do nothing but aid and abet the attack.

He has talent, resources and plenty of experience to maybe collaborate with other artists or comedians to do something different and on their own terms. I’m sure Kimmel is concerned for the writers, staff, musicians and many others that put his show together but the future could be brighter if they don’t cave

And Kimmel is friends with all the other late night hosts, Colbert, Seth Meyers, Jimmy Fallon and John Oliver after they ran a podcast, Strike Force Five, to support their staffs during the writers' strike.
