This is what they voted for. They should eat it. Maybe they should start applying for jobs instead of begging the government for welfare.

4. It is a sad fact, but a fact nonetheless,

that there are two sides, the supply side and the demand side. If they are going to remove government support and regulation protecting the demand side, the worker and consumer, they must also remove government support and regulation protecting the supply side, in this case the farmer.

The reich-wing shouldn't worry. There is always an invisible hand in the market. If those farms are capable of making a profit they will be snapped up by businesses capable of running them profitably, likely hedge funds who are super-efficient. Hedge funds have no need for employee farmers who drive $100,000 pickups and vacation in Europe. Surely a lucky few of these farmers will find employment at $50,000 a year doing whatever work cannot be automated.

Sad? Sure, but this is the way the economy works. When Mom and Pop businesses are forced out by big box stores, when factory workers see their jobs offshored to countries with no environmental or labor regulations, and when tech workers lose their jobs to AI, it is sad, but the country moves on without much grieving. Should we grieve more just because these farmers are much more wealthy and right-wing?

they complain about social welfare programs while accepting government agricultural subsidies because they think they are deserving and don't consider it a "handout"

And where are the federal dollars going to come from to bail them out of what they wished for in November? Blue states, the ones contributing positively to federal tax revenues. That's rich, to have nothing but disdain for the very states that are the ones they ultimately depend upon to save their asses!

I know a farmer AND a rancher who will gloat to your face how free government money is their right. They also hire illegals. One even learned Spanish to assert total control over them.

That's my only wish.

Sure, the Vice President's company which buys up bankrupt farms will benefit from farmers losing everything, but if we're to progress as a nation, we have to separate money from fools who's primary goal in life is to wish harm on others.
