"It Is Going to Kill People": Disability Rights Activist Speaks Out on Trump's "Big, Beautiful Bill"

Over two dozen disability rights activists were arrested on Capitol Hill last week when they protested the Trump-backed Republican budget bill and its cuts to Medicaid, affordable housing and more. “We’re putting our bodies on the line [because] our bodies are on the line,” says Julie Farrar, an activist with ADAPT, which organized the protest. “It is blood on the hands of the GOP and the president and the administration, that they want this big, beautiful bill for billionaires that will kill poor people [and] disabled people.”

3. It really pisses me off when Democrats frame this politically,

when they infer that because this bill is so bad they will win back the House. The mid-terms are too far away.

I honestly believe that Congressional Democrats are following Chuck Schumer's strategy to let Krasnov burn it all down and then they will win in the mid-terms. WTF will this country look like by the time the mid-terms roll around?

Do town halls with actual people in red districts like they did with the fired government workers.

4. I agree, it has gone way beyond politics.

We are into a battle of good vs evil.
Democracy vs fascism.

Letting Trump burn it all down to win an election is morally wrong.

I have no idea what the country will look like in two and four years.

5. Combined with a "drill baby drill baby" mentality regardless of climatic repercussions,

the lust for Greenland, and a death dealing budget it looks to me like a mid-long term culling.

They've given up on humanity.

6. The billionaires know exactly what is going to happen with climate change.

Mass destruction and death.

That is why they are vacuuming up as much of the world's wealth and resources now.

They assume they alone with survive.

7. That's it. Combined with blunt tariffs and throwing out immigrant minority laborers many of them

being the first step toward a word that *rump didn't know, that being "groceries."

It's all part of the same package, making survival more difficult for the vast majority of the people.

This is a death bill, it should be framed that way by Democrats and not framed politically. The mid-terms are too far away.
