Censured Rep. Al Green: 'We have to move forward with righteous incivility' - Velshi - MSNBC

House Republicans are pushing for Congressman Al Green to be stripped of his committee assignments following his protest during Trump's address to Congress. He joins Melissa Murray to explain why he continues to fight against Trump for what he thinks is right, even if harsh consequences follow.

“Another thing is just the dignity, the humanity. How do you treat people this way when we know that people have needs? They're not billionaires,” Green says. “I don't know how we can say that it looks right for a billionaire to do this to everyday working people. We live in a world where it's not enough for things to be right, they must also look right.” - Aired on 03/08/2025.

We've had great presidents and not so great presidents, but TFG is the first one who is intentionally destroying democracy Rhiannon12866 Mar 2025 #6

Our response should be to hold a highly public awards ceremony and give him one for maximum patience, civility, and "mildness in the face of unforgivable tyranny." Hunder percent sincere.

We know that they agree with him, he just had the guts to speak out.

I'm a little inoculated because of the bullshit we had to go through earlier in this century, but this is silly. We all know better.

Though the more he does, the more former supporters he alienates.

Democracy is a word, but the concept beneath is challenging something ugly. Been going on for a very long time.
