Brittney Griner Makes WNBA History in Second Game With Dream
It didn't take long for the new Atlanta Dream forward to make history with her new home.
Nine-time All-Star forward Brittney Griner carved her name in the top 20 of the WNBA's all-time rebounding list on Tuesday night. With her sixth rebound against the Indiana Fever, Griner passed Tangela Smith for 20th all-time in WNBA rebounds.
Smith grabbed 2,335 rebounds while playing for the Sacramento Monarchs, Charlotte Sting, Phoenix Mercury, Indiana Fever and San Antonio Silver Stars in her career from 1998-2012.
Griner only registered two additional rebounds the rest of the night after she moved into sole possession of 20th place on the all-time list. But she led the Dream with 21 points, going 8-for-13 from the field.
