Uhm Chiefland fl here

A funnel storm just passed over here, I was sitting in ny chair, thunder was,shaking my camper, and all of sudden, silence, then wind that came from my left ear to my right. And now 15 degrees cooler, that was a funnel cloud
I went through tornadoes in ND

I just we through one in Fl

to build their dream home. I spent four months there as the general building their house for them. I was stunned that they had made this decision, but I figured my father knew what he was doing.

I hadn't been there any time at all when I realized that north FL is just an extension of Appalachia. The people were incredibly backward and clannish. The neighbor across the road had never been farther that 50 miles away from Chiefland. I had gone to school at UTK and was acquainted with genteel southern hospitality. There was none of that in Chiefland. Rural health was almost non-existent. For care you had to go to Gainesville. My mother's health became very problematic.

A few years later my father told me that the move was the greatest mistake of his life. I have regretted the fact that I did not sit down with him before he got too deep into it to try to talk him out of what I saw as a big mistake. I honestly doubt if Chiefland has change all that much. I could be wrong.
