1. Cant stand Mayfield. The only good thing the Falcons did was keep HIM out of the playoffs

When he played UGA in the college playoffs, he did the "throat slit" motion when they were far ahead. UGA came back & Beat him and he slinked off the field.

when he planted the Sooners flag at midfield after beating OSU in 2017 at The Horseshoe.

5. Saw That This Morning

I guess I don't blame Mayfield for feeling a way.
His winning percentage in Tampa Bay isn't that much better than what he had in Cleveland, but he has made the playoffs twice with 27 regular season wins. The Browns have won 19 games over that time.
Not hearing from the head coach that you're out would make a lot of players mad.

6. I heard a few reminders on sports talk radio since I posted the OP

The Browns front office put out a statement that they were pleased to have Deshaun Watson taking over as their starting QB after doling out a record-high price for him. They referred to Watson as "the adult in the room."

Well, I hope it wasn't a massage room!

Of course that all came back to bite them in the backside, royally!

I have no doubt that Mayfield lacked maturity as a young man. He also has a reputation of being stubborn and playing through his injuries, which impedes his performance and can hurt the team.

But if Cleveland had stuck with him, they would no doubt be better off now.

7. They'd Have More Cap Room, For Sure

So, they'd definitely be better off. They'd have money to spend on other needs, and they have plenty.
